I was delighted / surprised / not sure what to expect when I had a call to say I’d reached the finals of the Scottish Portrait Awards 2019 - the full title, the Richard Coward SPA in Photography.
In June I entered a portrait of one of my Winter Wild Swimmers - one I absolutely loved of Jenny Kinnear and didn’t exhibit at the Skylark with the rest of Plunge- I’d kept it for myself! It’s the first time I’ve entered a competition so getting the call was really lovely- a nod to seeing that other’s see merit to what I do too.
The next steps now are getting it framed and hung for the final judging in November at the Scottish Arts Club in Edinburgh… The exhibition will be on for a month, then will move to Glasgow in January and Kirkudbright in Spring 2020.
In the mean time I’ve begun the 60 Portraits, 60 Days by means of celebrating all the support I’ve had.
